SPECIAL COLLABORATION WITH PETER CRAWLEY.
Peter is a sustainability consultant, educator, and lifelong nature lover based in Cambridge, MA. He’s traveled across four continents and spent time in the Amazon with the Achuar people, where he deepened his passion for reconnecting people with nature and purpose.
He brings over 20 years of meditation, yoga, and Tai Chi practice to his trips—offered as optional group activities—along with insights on rainforest ecology and Indigenous culture. Peter holds degrees from Amherst, Columbia, and Harvard, and has worked closely with the Wampanoag tribe on land return and cultural education.
He believes time in the rainforest—unplugged and fully present—can spark deep personal transformation.
Pam and Ilse are excited to announce this opportunity to send you into the Ecuadorian Amazon for an exclusive immersive experience! This extraordinary journey is made possible through a long-standing partnership between Fundación Pachamama in Ecuador and Pachamama Alliance in the U.S.—a collaboration rooted in supporting the Achuar people to preserve their rainforest home and culture on their own terms.
With Peter and a local guide, you will venture deep into the rainforest to live among Achuar families, where each day unfolds with the rhythm of the jungle. Take part in ancestral ceremonies, learn from Achuar guides on walks to sacred waterfalls and ancient trees, and listen to stories that illuminate their intimate connection with the natural world.
These small-group journeys are more than travel—they are exchanges of culture, heart, and spirit. By participating, you will help support the Achuar’s ongoing work to protect their lands and traditions, while rediscovering your own belonging to the living Earth.
